Annual California Beach Cleanup / Bates Beach Party

Date
09/20/2025 09:00 am - 12:00 pm

Description

Location: Bates Beach, Carpinteria

Every year on the third Saturday in September, people meet at sites all over California to take part in the State's largest volunteer event, California Coastal Cleanup Day. The event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, which is the largest volunteer event on the planet! This year, SCNA and Friends of Bates Beach will oversee this annual event at North Rincon (Bates) Beach. If you can’t make the 9 AM start time, you can still come as late at 11 AM to help with the second half of the cleanup. If you come closer to noon, you can help the people returning from the beach to weigh and then take their bags to the beach trash bins. Please call us at (818) 225-2273 if you can join us. A good showing at this event will impress the local County and Carpinteria City officials. After the Cleanup is completed, weather permitting we will celebrate the rest of the day with a picnic on the beach!
